Touring and Cruiser Boots
Touring Boots and cruiser boots are always directly related to the bike you ride, and in this case, it is riding on the streets and traveling the country. The appearance and style of the touring boots differ in many ways, but it is a more flexible boot than the dirt bike boot. The touring boots are still rather stiff in the ankle and toe areas, but is very flexible in the other areas. It can be a high top or low like a regular shoe, but you would lose the upper protection portion. However, it is a matter of taste of the rider.
The Harley folks have their touring boots based closely with an engineering boot with some safety items built in, and a great many Harley rider do use an engineering boot in place of touring boots. The appearance is similar in that they are usually black and have a buckle and strap across the top, but the safety aspect remains. All boots offer safety, just depends on how much safety you want. The reason the touring boots are rather flexible is simple, the rider spends his time riding while seated, whereas riding a dirt bike you ride mostly standing.
Other items offered in touring boots are choice of color, brand, or store of your choice. I will say that most Harley folks do go to the local Harley dealer and purchase there, but there are other places, like those offered here. I hope I can offer some money savings for you, my customer, but placing stores and the ads that come from them, so you might get a flavor for what touring boots they offer and what is possible to save.
