Cruiser Helmets
for The Cruiser and Touring Riders
Cruiser helmets are used by riders of road bikes for the same reasons off road and touring bike riders do, safety. In other words, protect your head from serious injury in case of an accident. The cruiser helmets are build in the same manner as the others, but is open faced, has a visor, and sometimes a shield in front of your eyes and face. The cruiser helmets also come in half size, or the helmet covers just the top of your head like the police mans type, or a three quarter size which covers your ears as well. Unlike the motocross helmet, the visors are built in. The full cruiser helmets are the same as the sports bike and racing helmets, with coverage of top, front and ears portions of your head but without a visor. Instead, the windshield flips up and down with no room to place a visor there.

All cruiser helmets are a fiberglass shell and padded inside. Colors and design are varied, but solid black or white seem very popular with riders, and they are also throwbacks to earlier times. Cruiser helmets as well as others are all warranted, usually for five years but it varies, and certified by the DOT, and are light weight. The safety aspect of cruiser helmets since the fifties have come a long way.
